The handle really feels nice, not too fat, not too skinny and well balanced.Paper, vinyl and leather all cut very well. It’s entirely possible that it’s the best leather cutting knife I’ve ever used.It also cuts wooden veneers extremely well, even cross grain cuts are clean and it follows the cut line very well. I am a professional conservator of antique furniture and veneers are a big part of my life. This knife definitely has a permanent home in my toolchest.The caveats: It won’t cut unsupported material (material not laying on something else) it just slides across it.You can’t scrape with it. Scraping excess glue and other stuff off of furniture is a daily operation for me and this blade won’t do it (not for long anyway). The edge chips away quickly.There is a sharp point on the blade, but it’s not in the same place as a #11 blade. In use that makes it feel weird if you’ve spent a lifetime using #11 blades, so you have to get used to that.Overall I like the knife. I think the blades are too expensive, but they are worth it. In the situations where this works it really works well. But it’s not a viable replacement for a regular X-Acto. You need both.
